Trail of Tears Commemorative Park – Located at 100 Trail of Tears Drive, off E. 9th Street, this 34 acre park is on a portion of the campground used by the Cherokee Indians on the infamous Trail of Tears, and includes the Heritage Center, the gravesites and statues of Chiefs White Path and Fly Smith, a flag court, walking trails, a playground, small picnic shelters, and public restrooms. Each September, on the first full weekend after Labor Day, the Trail of Tears Park Commission hosts an intertribal Pow Wow at the Park. ADA accessible with parking.

As the August 21, 2017 total solar eclipse travels along its center line path, Orchardale, Shepherd Farm awaits the eclipse’s historic visit. Located in Christian County, northwest of Hopkinsville, Kentucky, Orchardale, Shepherd Farm is within the point of greatest eclipse. The farm offers open acreage and a rolling hillside field with an elevated view. Large groups welcome.

The Western Kentucky State Fairgrounds is located on 92 acres that will have designated RV parking areas. The open air grandstand arena will be open for viewing of the 2017 Eclipse. RV parking will be available after 3:00 p.m. on August 18, 2017. No golf carts allowed. RV site occupants will be responsible for properly disposing of any trash upon departure.

We are offering our spaces to buses and RVs only. Please contact early to book bus spaces. We will be providing our spaces early and available after the activities have concluded. This will allow you to safely maneuver these large vehicles in and out of the city without stress. We are offering a 10-day one price package through July 1st. If there are still spaces available, we will begin offering the remaining spaces on a three-day package.
Our location is the safest and most convenient location available. It is located across from the Hopkinsville Police Department, and we will be providing on the premise security using local retired police.
Our location is also across the street from the Piggly Wiggly, a local long time grocery store with the best kept secret in the county It features delicious daily food menus, inexpensively priced, piping hot food. This store also features a full service customer service counter with a variety of payment options.
The Circle has an on premise Bar-B-Que and Snack facility. Perry’s Bar-B-Que will be open during the event and you may get the food delivered to your lot number.
The Hopkinsville Post Office is located a short block from our Solar loop, so you won’t have to start up your vehicle to make this trip. Your vehicle will be safely parked at our circle.
Parking with us will allow you to be within a comfortable stroll to most of the city sponsored events. You can also visit all of the historic locations and displays without moving your vehicle. Our Solar Circle is located on the Little River. You can stroll across the bridge to Jeffers Bend Environmental Center and enjoy a day just interacting with nature and the great scenery.
Most importantly, our location is easily accessible from all major highways. Enter 136 N Virginia on your GPS when traveling. Early bird special, one free campsite with reservation. Breakfast served on August 21, 2017, shuttle service available. We will have a flea market on premise and musical activities leading up to the big event. Staying with us, you will never be bored.
